Growing your family can be an exciting time filled with mixed emotions.  Sometimes, however, you are met with unexpected hurdles and overwhelming thoughts or feelings that could leave you feeling hopeless, paralyzed, or unable to get through the day to day.  After bringing a new baby home you may not feel the joy you expected or you might even begin to question the decision to expand your family. You may find yourself feeling scared, worried, and overwhelmed.  If you’ve had a traumatic birth experience, you may not only have feelings of depression and anxiety, but also flashbacks, nightmares, and difficulty connecting with your child. If you are the spouse or partner of a woman struggling with reproductive mental health issues, you may be at a loss for how to help or be experiencing your own mental health challenges as a result of the changes in your family.  We are passionate about helping women and their support systems through these difficult challenges.

 

We follow the work of Dr. Karen Kleiman and are trained through Postpartum Support International (PSI), a leading resource for perinatal mental health, and have the tools and experience needed to assist you with reproductive mental health needs. The following are areas of reproductive mental health in which we are knowledgeable and able to assist:

  • Miscarriage/Pregnancy loss

  • Postpartum depression

  • Postpartum anxiety

  • Intrusive thoughts
